Would you believe my story if I were white?

JULY 23--Here are the police reports detailing the confrontation last week between Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Cambridge cops, who were condemned last night by President Barack Obama for acting "stupidly" in arresting the African-American scholar. Cops responded to Gates's house after neighbor Lucia Whalen reported spotting "two black males with backpacks" trying to gain entry to the home (Gates, returning home from a trip overseas, and his driver were contending with a stuck front door). The Cambridge Police Department reports, authored by Sergeant James Crowley and Officer James Figueroa, quote an incensed Gates yelling, "This is what happens to black men in America!," and, when asked by Crowley to speak with him outside the residence, Gates replied, "ya, I'll speak with your mama outside." A disorderly conduct rap was filed against Gates, but quickly dropped by prosecutors. Gates is reportedly considering legal action against the Cambridge police. (3 pages)

What Gates said is the truth... These kind of things do happen to black men in America. For some reason whites don't believe that black people or Hispanic suffer from racial profiling. As a matter of fact since America has a black President, Blacks have lost the right to say that racism still exist. I absolutely can not stand to hear a white man expressing his anger about a black man crying fowl! How quickly they forget about the Emit Till's of the world. The Lynching of thousands of black men, who suffered at the hands of hateful white mobs, or being found guilty by an all white jury for a crime that he did not commit. Being the last hired and the first fired. You see when you are black in America you can not even make statement like that, for fear of being called a racist!

What if we switched the situation and all the things that happened to us as black men was laid at the feet of white's. They suffered all the heart ache and paid the tributes to their white skin with lynchings and abuse, simply because they were white... Would the story be so hard to believe if they were the one's telling them?
