A Boston police officer and National Guard commander has been suspended from the force and stripped of his Army command after admitting that he called Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. a "jungle monkey" in an email.

Justin Barrett, 36, a two-year BPD veteran, could be fired as early as this week, Boston Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said.

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis held a news conference today to denounce the language in Barrett's email, calling it "venomous rhetoric" and "inflammatory." The commissioner said such behavior "will not be tolerated."

Davis said he has begun a termination hearing that could last a week to 10 days. The commissioner also said he regretted the comments made about Gates.

"I personally reached out to him to apologize for this offense," the commissioner said.

Davis' news conference included religious and black leaders who also condemned Barrett's comments and tried to soothe racial feelings. The also warned that such prejudice must be eliminated from the ranks of police.

"Everybody knows one flat tire will stop a car," said the Rev. Don Mohammed.

I am pleased in Zero Tolerance that the Boston police force is using... This can of behavior should not ever be tolerated period. I am a little caught off guard in who leaked the email??? I wonder if it was one of his so called friends who was laughing with him one minute and as soon as he turned his back, well you know the rest.

Like with Rodney King if it was not for the video tape he would have been sentenced for resisting arrest. So the email is his smoking gone and because of it he has to go.

Infant Cut from Womb in Murder Found Alive

(AP) A baby girl who was cut from her mother's womb has been found alive and two people were arrested in the woman's killing, police said.

The girl, whose mother's body was found Monday in a closet at her Worcester apartment, appeared to be in "fairly good health" at a New Hampshire hospital, Worcester Police Sgt. Kerry Hazelhurst said late Wednesday.

Julie Corey, 35, and a male companion were arrested in Plymouth, New Hampshire, where police found them with the child. Friends had told police they were suspicious of Corey's claims she had given birth.

Corey was charged as a fugitive from justice. She was in custody and could not be reached for comment late Wednesday. Police did not know whether she had a lawyer.

The baby's mother, Darlene Haynes, was eight months pregnant. Haynes' body was found by her landlord, William Thompson, who said a "horrifying smell" led him to her apartment, where he found her body wrapped in bedding in a closet. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Police said the 23-year-old had apparently been dead for several days, and that she hadn't contacted family or friends since Thursday. It was not until an autopsy Tuesday that authorities discovered the fetus was missing.

What is the world coming to that a woman was killed so another woman could steal her baby? Thousands of children with out a mother; just needing to be adopted, and this idiot goes out and commit this crime. The ideal that it was okay to take a life to get a life, is ludicrous. This lady has done a unthinkable crime and the death penalty should come quick.
I can not imagine that scene with the body laying on the floor while she pulled the baby from her stomach. The only question that I must continue to ask is why??? Have we become so jaded in our world that our crimes are getting more heinous?
I have no compassion for a cold hearted killers and she deserves to die like the lady she killed...

Girl 'thrown off cliff by her father to avoid child support'

A dad threw his four-year-old daughter off a cliff to avoid paying child support, a court heard yesterday.

Cameron Brown, 47, allegedly took Lauren to an isolated spot where they could not be seen.

He is then said to have grabbed her and hurled her 120ft into the sea.

It is the second time Brown has been on trial for the alleged murder after the jury failed to reach a decision three years ago.

The American was said to have been trying to dodge his £608-a-month child support to Sarah KeyMarer, a British woman who emigrated to the US.

Deputy district attorney Craig Hum told Los Angeles superior court: "This man picked up Lauren, whom he fathered but was never a father to, and threw her off a cliff into the waters."

Brown said the death at Rancho Palos Verdes, near LA, in 2000 was an accident. The trial continues.

This is a sad day in bed rock when a man choose to kill his own child to avoid paying child support. I think that this low life deserves the death penalty. The premeditated act that was committed by this father shows that he not only did not care about himself or his child. Although I do have a problem with the Court system putting children on men who are not a participating member of the child's life. If their is never any contact with the child, why should anyone have to pay child support? If a man says that he does not want the child and the woman decides to keep that child, it should be her responsibility and only hers! Until their is some continuity and equality in making choices in custody and the amount of money paid, their will remain confusion and men representing decision that are very unorthodox. Maybe with more news exposure of how unfair the child support system are, it can help to remedy several problems within the child support system.

Why do some men cheat?

Have you ever really wondered why some men cheat? I looked at myself and I wondered why do I cheat. For so many years the callus behavior that was part of my demeanor was how I existed. Being faithful to one woman had never been my character flaw! The problem was so simply yet so very complex. No matter what woman I choose, I would always find some kind of fault in her character. The women that I slept with would always have two of 3 things that I was seeking in a woman. Communication (mental stimulation), physical beauty (that was pleasing to me), and sexual (physical stimulation). Many women has passed at least 2 levels of the requirements that I had set forth, but none could ever really achieve all 3. You see I had set myself up for failure. Through years of observation I realized that I would settle for about anything with a skirt to sleep with. Of course calling them my woman was a level that not many woman had achieved! I slept with so many woman that over half, I can not remember their names.

I came to a realization that I really had no set standard of a woman that I wanted. You see no matter how beautiful she was or how good the sex was, I was always looking at someone with more beauty and it was my job to figure out how I could make her mind. I found out that I had a hunger or maybe thirst would be a better word for it, that was unquenchable. The realization that the affection that a woman gave me was a high that was so intense. I not only wanted it from one woman but as many as I could get it from. Although after the moment (sex) was done I always had this nagging feeling of guilt and would ask myself "why did I do it"?

The story that I could tell is not enough to cover within a few minutes, hours, or days. This would be a investment of weeks and months the equivalent of a novel. So, for the moment this is teaser that I'll give today. The reason that men cheat has nothing to do with the woman that their with! What you ask? For those who never received affection as boys grow up seeking it as men. Sometimes men need TLC that only his woman can give but he never gets. So he will get out and its all about a few minutes of pleasure, whispering sweet nothings in his ear, holding him like you never want to let him go, and taking him where he has never been.

Now, for every man their is a woman that will make his toes curl, you just have to figure out how to do it. You see if you give him all the affection that he can handle and more you will not have a problem with your man! Remember if you give a little you get a little, so give as much as you can and watch the results grow...

Kirstie Alley gained 85 pounds.

Two years after her news-making bikini reveal, Kirstie Alley explains how she gained back 85 pounds.

For two years, Kirstie followed the Jenny Craig plan and inspired people around the country to lose weight with her. Then, in 2006, Kirstie graced Oprah's stage with a new look, fulfilling a goal she'd set for herself one year earlier—to wear a bikini in public. Seventy-five pounds lighter than her starting weight, Kirstie donned a bikini for all to see.
Now Alley has ballooned back to her original weight. 85 pounds later with the loss of her job as spokes person for Jenny Craig, she is back to where she was two years earlier and still does not have a plan with out a spoon and fork!

I personally can not say it is easy considering you have such a busy schedule, but you have to keep it real and incorporate exercise in this routine some where. If you can not maintain you eating habits with exercise, you will continue to be obese. There is no make believe formula that you can drink to shed the pounds, the formula that will help you win with success is control your eating and exercise!

A South Carolina woman is charged with criminal neglect

A South Carolina woman is being charged today with criminal neglect, a felony that could land her up to ten years in the slammer. Why? Because her 14-year-old son weighs 555 pounds. The kids mother, Jerri Gray, was poor and often had to work back-to-back shifts, so her son was home alone a lot. Gray claims there wasn't a lot of junk food in the house, but that her son was stuffing his face in school, eating several lunches each day and feasting on snacks given to him by his friends. The mother tried to get help for her son. She got a $30,000 scholarship to take her kid to a weight treatment center. However, when she arrived the people at the facility said they were not equipped to deal with her boy because he was just too damned big. If Gray is found guilty, it will set a rather scary precedent. If letting your kid eat too much is a crime, what should happen to parents of kids who are anorexic or bulimic? Or to parents of kids who get pregnant? Or to parents of kids who rob or kill someone? Yes, parents can influence their children. But at the end of the day, they're not in the drivers seat. On the flip side, being morbidly obese is dangerous. Parents should try to keep their kids healthy. But I think its hard to dole out punishment. I mean, isn't the school partially at fault? I bet this kids teachers were around him more than his mother—should someone have intervened when they noticed the kid was eating way too much and getting dangerously fat? And while were passing out blame, isn't this partially an epic failure on the part of the system? We live in a country where not everyone has equal access to great health care. So shouldn't those rich, fat, white men in Congress share the blame, too? And what about the weight loss center that refused this kid treatment? And the friends who gave him snacks? And the kid himself? Obviously, this mother isn't the greatest ever. But she is not the only problem here.
How shameful can this system be? In this day and age when it is hard enough to think for yourself, how can you be charged for not thinking for someone else? To give a woman a criminal record because she has a fat ass son is simply not right. If she is not contributing to his obesity then why charge her for his problems? I think it is important for a parent to instill values and morals in a child but when they reach a certain age, all that goes out the window. Life is to short and to punish anyone for their child's short coming is simply not right!
