Every day, we wake up with a choice. We can choose to embrace the day as a new opportunity to learn, grow, and make a positive impact on the world, or we can let fear, doubt, and negativity hold us back. It's easy to get caught up in the challenges and obstacles we face, but it's important to remember that these challenges are what shape us into who we are. Each obstacle is a chance to learn something new, to become stronger, more resilient, and more capable than we were before.
But we don't hav
According to sources within the Memphis Police Department Officer Anthony Godwin son of police director Larry Godwin was involved in a 3-4 car accident on Thursday of last week where he left the scene with his father's help.
Sources say the accident took place on Jefferson near the Med. its said that after hitting the cars Godwin who is stated to have been into called his father who sent his assistant Mike Shearin to the scene. Shearin following orders advised the dispatcher to disregard the LT. making the scene. The dispatcher advised Shearin that he had a patrolman's rank and couldn't disregard a supervisor.
Sources say that no traffic car made the scene,No accident report was taken and that Anthony Godwin was taken away from the scene by Shearin and taken to Lakeside. Information is that Director Godwin made the scene and advised the accident victims that OCU would take care of the damages.
Sources state that Anthony Godwin has a serious drinking problem and that he was arrested last year in Bartlett using his undercover name and when it was discovered who he was the incident was covered up by Bartlett police.
Isn't leaving the scene of a accident a crime for normal citizens? Isn't Larry Godwin's aiding his son aiding and abetting thought that a criminal? Larry Godwin stated last week that it's his goal to rid MPD of all of it's thugs,Well what about the one at his house? Will A.C. look the other way, of course he will.
Sources within COGIC state that Dickerson L.S. Wells pastor of Bethel COGIC here in Memphis who also serves as a trustee of the national organization was asked to resign his position of superintendent By Presiding Bishop Charles Blake after it was found that Wells had diverted church funds for his personal use.
As Superintendent here in Memphis Wells was the highest ranking official of the national church having control of church funds and properties. Its said that Wells diverted a $20,000 check belonging to COGIC for his own personal use.
Sources state that Bishop Blake flew into Memphis several weeks ago and ask the stealing preacher to step down. There are those within COGIC who will seek to have Wells removed as a national trustee,But since he was elected by the General Assembly only that body I understand can remove him.
cCracking down on Prostitution in Shelby County I can appreciate the law enforcement cracking down on some of these criminals selling pussy, but unless I am missing something, Memphis has one or two murders a week!
Can we please solve some of these aggravated rape, burglary, robbery and murders????
Although I am sure that in the last two days that these woman have not committed any crime that was a felony! Plus do I really have to worry about these easy targets that you keep locking up, or the easy targets that you can not pick up! Lets face it I would rather have a town full of prostitution , than a town full of harden criminals!
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The owner of the security company that hired an accused rapist is speaking out about having to lay off most of his staff. Kroger was Security Point Protective Services largest client, but they fired them after guard Geryl Hill was charged with raping a customer.
Both Kroger and Security Point Protections Services are devastated for the young victim and her family. Also, both regret that a successful seven year partnership has resulted in nearly 50 people losing their jobs.
The alleged actions of 31 year old Geryl Hill has impacted a family, shoppers, and now destroyed the company he worked for, Security Point Protection Services, owned by Huston Atkins.
Police say Hill raped a 25 year old woman after he caught her allegedly shoplifting a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste in the Kroger at the corner of Poplar and Highland.
Hill was an unarmed security guard for Security Point, a company that employed 48 people. Kroger was the the company's only client.
"I had to layoff all my employees," said Atkins. "We were ordered by the Kroger company to vacate the premises."
Kroger announced it was terminating the security contract with Protections Services on Wednesday.
Kroger Spokesperson Joe Bell says the company will use an interim company while it looks for a permanent replacement.
"Our concern first and foremost is our customers. What we didn't want is someone feeling unsafe in a store if they saw a certain security guard or know they worked for a certain company."
Bell says Kroger will review ways to increase security checks on security guards, but Atkins says the state's security licensing system needs to be re-evaluated. He says the state was in the process of revoking Hill's license.
"If a license is being investigated or potentially attempted to be revoked, then that company should be notified of that," said Atkins. "In this case, there was no notification."
In an economy that forces a woman to shoplift a toothbrush, Atkins is now devastated to put his entire workforce out of a job.
"The families of the 48 employees lost their job with four hours notice."
I think their are parts of this story that are being left out, first the woman said that she was stopped in the store, but did agree to have sex with the man if he let her go home. Then when she went home she then called the police. Where is the rape??? Was it going to be a conspiracy to commit a rape? This really does sound quite flaky, lets just wait and see what really happened, because I believe their is more to this story than what is being told!!!

MEMPHIS, TN - Three Memphis cops were busted by the FBI on Friday, February 26, 2010, in a police corruption case that took MPD Director Larry Godwin by surprise.
Three of his officers, including a veteran of the force, are charged with taking thousands of dollars in bribes from a local nightclub owner in exchange for information and protection.
The FBI picked the officers up Friday for questioning. During their interviews, all three admitted to taking payoffs from the club owner. They accepted the bribes from last September up until this week, grabbing the cash while on duty and in uniform.
"I'm fed up with it," Director Godwin said during a news conference at the U.S. Attorney's office just hours after he received word of the arrests. Godwin says he was at a retreat with other top law enforcement officials when he got the news, and he was both shocked and angered by it.
Lt. Tim Green, a 24-year veteran of the department, along with Patrolman Chris Crawford and Patrolman Mike Young face federal bribery and extortion charges.
"I've said that before I retire," Godwin told reporters, "I will rid this department of criminal activity and thugs. And I'm sick of it because it overshadows the hardwork of every good officer in this county."
U.S. Attorney Lawrence Laurenzi says Crawford and Young were paid $100 a pop and Lt. Green received more than $1,000 every time they paid a visit to the club.
Laurenzi says the officers would get paid for "cleaning the lot", forcing patrons to leave the parking lot after the club closed. They also notified the club's owners about police raids and an ongoing OCU investigation. And Lt. Green is accused of falsifying police reports to cover up crimes at the club.
The information and money were usually traded in the club's bathroom or office, and most exchanges were recorded by the FBI on audio and videotape.
Federal investigators say Lt. Green received 11 payments since October, totaling $8,000.
Officer Crawford accepted 14 payments, totaling more than $1,400.
Officer Young received 27 payments, adding up to more than $2,600.
The cops' bribery scheme was discovered while the FBI was conducting an investigation into the club's activities. Their source inside the club, according to investigators, was an individual who was brought in for questioning in September. This person claimed to be a silent partner in the nightclub with a $15,000 to $20,000 investment in the business. That source then began working as a manager at the club and provided federal investigators with most of the information contained in the criminal complaint.
With the arrests of Green, Crawford and Young, this brings the number of Memphis Police Officers accused of wrongdoing in recent months to 23.
"We understand that the community expects and they demand," says Laurenzi, "that there not be corruption in law enforcement. Everybody up here understands that good and effective law enforcement starts with honest law enforcement."
"I'll tell you this," says Director Godwin, "you can send this message: you come on the Memphis Police Department and you think you're going to commit criminal activity, we will lock you up.
Lt. Green is suspended from the MPD with pay. Officers Crawford and Young both resigned. All three have bonds set at $10,000. When released, they'll be subject to home detention and electronic monitoring.
The club owner faces no charges at this time and federal investigators won't identify the nightclub involved, saying it's an ongoing investigation.
Ever Pastor has a story to tell about where they came from, and how God directed him to preach the word. I believe that some Pastors were blessed with the calling from God, although I have heard some stories about some men and women of God that makes me wonder who actually called them to preach, was it God or ???
I have been a member of someones church most of my life and that is how I came to this conclusion that some Pastor are Pimping the members of their church. Of course calling the Pastor a Pimp may not be a good thing, but if the shoe fits then maybe he must wear it.
The headline news is that some members of several congregation have stepped up and spilled the beans. The book "Pimps In The Pulpit" gave you a detail summary of how the Pastor was pimping his Church from the Pulpit and how it was happening everyday. Some people can not see the forest for the trees but their is no excuse for some church members not seeing the subtle signs, "that they are being pimped"!
Lets first look at how a pimp lives his life, I mean the traditional pimps stays in a nice house, he dresses nice, drives a Cadillac and keep a pocket full of money, while constantly being flocked by a group of women he calls his hoes. Please remember that the money the hoes earned payed for all of his worldly goods.
Now I have seen some great men of God and I have nothing to say about them except keep up the good work! Although I have seen some men of God where I thought to my self hmmmmm. Now lets look at our men of God and see how they live, they own a nice house in most cases the church pays the house note, they dress very nice, drive nice cars and some churches even pay their car note, and for some pastors they receive a six figure salary, and they are always surrounded by loyal members of the church who is willing to do anything and everything to help the man of God get exactly what he says the church needs .... Does some of that description sound familiar?
This might be a tell tell sign, if you tithe for years and hit a rough spot in your life and need help and the church says they can only give you a dime when you need a dollar, that sounds like pimping to me baby!
When the Pastor preaches a sermon for hours to support the church wanting you to give your last dollar, so that God can bless you... I don't know about you, but that sounds like you were Pimped!
So please remember that sometimes the best lie is the truth! If it looks like, sounds like, and smells like..... it might be!
The Pastors of several churches around Memphis has pulled their churches into foreclosures. So my first question is how did this happen?
The Pastors response is that "God told them to do it". Naturally when God tells you to do something he only has the best thought for you in mind, right? Would God give you something to day only to take it away from you tomorrow?
Maybe it was not God that you were talking to, it could have been another powerful God "called Greed"? You see when these pastor makes thousands of dollars a month with a few hundred members they feel that with thousands of members that they could make 10s of thousands of dollars a month.
Unfortunately this is starting to become a common site around Memphis where churches are bellying up from strapped debts acquired from building a new church. The Pastors visions of grander are just that and now they are having to back track and move back to their original church home. Nothing is more demoralizing to have something taking from you because you did not think things through. I wonder how does the Pastor keep a straight face with the church members after they realize he may have stretched the truth?
Okay their is a moral to this story, "Pastors I think that you have to rationalize who is talking to you", because if God talked to you, do you really think you would be on the news explaining why you failed?
Since this video showing two men fistfight on an Oakland AC Transit bus hit the internetwebs, a few things have happened. For starters, the female who shot the video, granted CBS 5 an interview.
The fight started, according to the Iyanna Washington who whole captured the fight on film, after the white man asked the black man for a shoe shine. Then, as these charged events tend to go, a fight ensued.
“The black guy was drunk,” Washington went on to presume. “The white guy was…on some kind of drug.”
She goes on to say that the cops arrested the old man who beat up the younger man. When asked to describe the incident in a word, she semi-jokingly responded, “Oakland.”
What a joke, considering that several of the black people on the bus incited that black man to get his ass kicked. Several times the white guy told him he don't mess with me boy. Although you can hear the agitators hyping this guy up. So when does the law permit you to protect yourself? You see if the first guy had not have threw the first punch, their would not have been a fight. I know this is no laughing matter but did someone feed the black guy Wheaties this morning for breakfast? Surly when he woke up this morning he knew then he could not fight... Maybe he was looking at the gray hair and heard the man say that he was 67... That might have been just what he needed to get in a brawl with someone!
Anyway what truly starts the fight is " I see tough guys like you and I slap the shit out of them". Now maybe, just maybe that might have been a indication to leave this guy alone.... The nerve of all those instigators talking about "what" like they were going to fight. After the first punches were thrown all these pity seekers talking that ain't right...
This has got to be the reason that these young guys carry guns. Maybe that is why they are willing to shoot first and fight later. To see more of what’s on your mind click here
A Clarksdale family says police went too far during the arrest of a family member, and they say the video they shot proves it. It all started with a traffic stop and ended with more than half a dozen arrests.
I could never imagine back in 1990 when Rodney King was arrested for resisting arrest what would have happen if the video cameras would not have been rolling.
The situation that is happening here went to far and they just expected those guys to shut up and be quiet on their own property.
Unfortunately 2 wrongs don't make a right, maybe the guys should have just shut up and kept their mouths closed. Although if you are not willing to stand for something. you will fall for everything!
Now when this is all said and done these charges what ever they will be will fade to black and disappear. Although I am certain that some lawyer will exercise is option to sue!!!
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Tennessee drug enforcement agents found more than spare change when they cut into a spare tire.
Drug Task Force agent Mike Hall is quoted by the Chattanooga Times Free Press as saying agents found $271,020 hidden in the spare in Albino Lara's car after stopping it for an improper lane change Tuesday.
Hall said Lara let agents search the vehicle after he was pulled over on Interstate 75 in Bradley County.
He said Lara denied the money was his and said he didn't know how it got into his tire.
These people that operate this website are making money off of the misfortunes of others. Taking advantage of people in a suffering state is about as immoral as can be. I like several others below have been falsely accused by my ex-wife and arrested on charges that were later dropped. My name was printed in a website however, not this one...an actual website that prints news not just trash. They didn't print anything saying the charges were dropped on me. Nor do they print that for anyone else. How is it fair to print people that are charged, but no print their convictions or overturning. Aside from the fact that this infringes on a citizens rights.
So after I read the comment I decided to responded to the comment. Unfortunately for the 20 people that was arrested below, sorry! Just so you know anyone and everyone is Innocent until proven guilty... Let me put a little clarity to this irate individual who does not like people being displayed on Just Busted or any other publication that shows who was arrested! Because they were arrested, many a people want to see who got in trouble! How many times have you rode by and saw a cop with someone pulled over and you slowed down and was rubber necking to see who it was in the handcuff?
Here is a piece of information that you may not have know, but once you are arrested the initial arrest will always be displayed on your record unless you get the item expunged from your record! Even if you are found not guilty or the state dismisses the charge, it still shows on your record!
For you individual who get speeding tickets but go to traffic school so that the ticket does not effect your insurance. Any cops who pulls you over can still see any tickets that you may have received, even if they were dismissed.
Unfortunately it is what it is, and that's that, get over it!

The Memphis Police Department staged an undercover prostitution sting this weekend. More than a dozen women were arrested for prostitution near a school or church. Prostitution is a big problem near Hollywood and Chelsea. Undercover officers posed as decoys in several areas around the city. 12 women were all willing to have sex for money, and they were all within a mile and a half of a church or school.

Busts were also made near Winchester Elementary, Hanley elementary and other middle and high schools around the city. The women’s bonds ranged from a $100 to $250. At last check Sunday night, about half of them had been released. The women who were arrested range in age from 22 to 52.
Maybe I am missing the point but a couple of these women are old and ugly. Who would stoop to that level just to have sex. Yuck!!!!
Just a few weeks ago they were talking about wanting to being back racial profiling so that terrorism would be stopped. Although it sounds good on paper, once you open Pandora's box, the profiling itself could create a lot of trouble.
So now they have come up with this bright new concept that they want a all white basketball league. That is correct a new professional basketball league boasting rosters made up exclusively of white Americans.
Now the name will be the All-American Basketball Alliance although would'nt it sound much better as the all white American Basketball Alliance?
"Only players that are natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race are eligible to play in the league," the statement said.
Augusta Mayor Deke Copenhaver, who has publicly expressed his support for minor league teams in the past, said he would not do the same for this team.
"As a sports enthusiast, I have always supported bringing more sporting activities to Augusta," he said. "However, in this instance I could not support in good conscience bringing in a team that did not fit with the spirit of inclusiveness that I, along with many others, have worked so hard to foster in our city."
Clint Bryant, athletic director at Augusta State University, laughed when he heard the news.
"It's so absurd, it's funny, but it gives you an idea of the sickness of our society" he said. "It shows you what lengths people will go to just to be mean-spirited. I think at any basketball level, no matter if it's all black, all white, all Hispanic, all Asian or anyone else, the players should just be a basketball team."
Don "Moose" Lewis, the commissioner of the AABA, said the reasoning behind the league's roster restrictions is not racism. Although I am sure that this commissioner is white and he sees nothing wrong with these ole boys just getting together to play a little white ball.
"There's nothing hatred about what we're doing," he said. "I don't hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now. Here's a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like."
Lewis said he wants to emphasize fundamental basketball instead of "street-ball" played by "people of color." He pointed out recent incidents in the NBA, including Gilbert Arenas' indefinite suspension after bringing guns into the Washington Wizards locker room, as examples of fans' dissatisfaction with the way current professional sports are run.
"Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?" he said. "That's the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction."
The Atlanta-based league, which will operate as a single-entity owning all of its teams, is looking for local contacts to pay $10,000 to become a "licensee" in one of 12 cities throughout the Southeast. Lewis said he has already received threats from people opposed to the roster restrictions and several cities have told him to stay out of town. Lewis said he has yet to hear from any one in Augusta.
"We need a local person ingrained into the community to make this successful," he said.
Lewis said he expects to eventually find support in every town with a team.
"People will come out and support a product they can identify with. I'm the spoken minority right now, but if people will give us a chance, it'll work... The white game of basketball, which is essentially a fundamental game, works."
Tennessee wants to Legalize marijuana. A bill introduced to legislators in Nashville aims to do. Under the Safe Access to Medical Cannabis Act, people with certain medical conditions could pick up pot with a prescription at their local pharmacy.
The bill specifies which medical conditions would qualify someone for marijuana use, how pharmacies would sell it and how producers and distributors would be licensed.
The ideal of legalizing Marijuana could help to end the Drug War, and eliminate a large portion of the prison population. 6 to 10 are incarcerated for marijuana related offenses alone.
Since 1990, nearly 5.9 million Americans have been arrested on marijuana charges, a greater number than the entire populations of Alaska, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming combined. In 2000, state and local law enforcement arrested 734,498 people for marijuana violations. This is an increase of 800 percent since 1980, and is the highest ever recorded by the FBI.
The overwhelming majority of those charged with marijuana violations in 2000-- 646,042 Americans (88 %) -- were for simple possession. The remaining 12% (88,456 Americans) were for "sale/manufacture", an FBI category which includes marijuana grown for personal use or purely medical purposes. These new FBI statistics indicate that one marijuana smoker is arrested every 45 seconds in America. Taken together, the total number of marijuana arrests for 2000 far exceeded the combined number of arrests for violent crimes, including murder, manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault.
Like most Americans who drink, the people who smoke marijuana should also pay taxes for the weed that they smoke. The Added incentive of the additional tax revenue that could be given to each state is unbelievable. It could be just what the United States need to be in the black for a change!
Please understand that Marijuana does not cause serious health problems like those caused by tobacco or alcohol (e.g., strong addiction, cancer, heart problems, birth defects, emphysema, liver damage, etc.). Death from a marijuana overdose is impossible. In all of world history, there has never been a single human death attributed to a health problem caused by marijuana. Legalize marijuanaand life would be better for most people. Why keep fighting the inevitable?
The time is now since the bill was introduced to the state house and senate last month. It has yet to go before a committee vote. Medical marijuana is currently legal in 14 states. I think that Tennessee should be number 15!

I recently received a pre-recorded message from a company that told me I had an outstanding debt please press zero (0) to resolve this. This was not the first time that I had received this call, generally I would hang up, but that day something told me to find out who was this. So I pushed zero and waited for a representative to answer the phone. The next few words caught me off guard. Julie gave me the name of this company and said that it was a claim from 2001. What a minute you are calling me about a claim from 2001.
She said yes and how would I like to resolve cash or credit?
I ask Julie if she knew that calling me on a claim over 7 years old is against the law. Julie told me that she knew the law and I owed the money.
So I dropped a little knowledge on Julie and I explained that she was in violation of federal law and she and the company could be subject to fines and or jail sentences if they continue violate that law. Julie was a smart lady, she immediately went to get her supervisor. When I started speaking to Bob I realized that he did not know the law either. Of course his call was a ethical call, and most people want to pay their debt no matter how old they are! So I used something called informative information on him and went on to say "if I did not pay the debt in 2001 that I surely was not going to pay it 9 years later" . I asked Bob did he knows what happens after a person files bankruptcy, he said did I file bankruptcy on this case? I said no. The reason that I was asking is after 10 years a bankruptcy automatically drops off of your credit. He said "okay". Listen Bob the first and most important piece of information is, that after 7 years of no activity on any account positive or negative it automatically drops off a consumers credit report and that debt is forgiven.
Again Bob wanted to explain his logical reason why he called, again. This time I stopped him in the middle of his rational approach and asked him for his name and the company that he worked for. I explained to him in layman's terms what was going to happen if he continued on trying to justify why he called. That I would be forced to call an attorney and take it to the next level, and I promised that he would not like the results if I did!
Bob realized his error and apologize, he explained that my name would be removed from his calling list and that would never happen again.
Food for thought: A collector only has 7 years to collect any debt after that it is a forgiven debt and it automatically drops off of your credit!
On paper, The Soloist sounds like a classic softhearted middlebrow awards-bait movie. Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie Foxx) is a homeless schizophrenic on the streets of Los Angeles whose outward dementia — mismatched clothing topped by full sequined jacket; hair plastered down on either side; a mode of ''talk'' that's really a jumble of word salad — conceals a delicate, refined soul obsessed with the beauty of music. Steve Lopez (Robert Downey Jr.) is a columnist for the Los Angeles Times who meets Nathaniel on the street and learns, after a bit of investigating, that he was once a budding cello virtuoso at Juilliard. He writes a column about him, and as Nathaniel starts to gain a bit of notoriety, the two men redeem each other. Or not.
The Soloist is based on a true story, but it takes pains not to sweeten the facts. And so the film, directed by Joe Wright (Atonement), draws us in without offering the expected ''inspirational'' catharsis. It's all a bit shapeless, yet made with sincerity and taste, and the two actors seize your sympathy.
Much to my surprise this was not the movie that I thought it was going to be. This is a movie without the deep passion that I was seeking. I really had a hard time believing Jamie Foxx as a Schizophrenic Nathaniel Ayers, a mentally ill, homeless street musician who possesses extraordinary talent. Even through his half-broken instruments does not limit his ability to create music.
Inspired by his story, Lopez writes an acclaimed series of articles about Ayers and attempts to do more to help both him and the rest of the underclass of LA have a better life. However, Lopez's good intentions run headlong in the hard realities of the strength of Ayers' personal demons and the larger social injustices facing the homeless. Regardless, Lopez and Ayers must find a way to conquer their deepest anxieties and frustrations to hope for a brighter future for both of them.
So even on paper it sound like a block buster movie that you will want to see over and over again. Lets look at it on paper it was a good movie but I could not not see more than two (2)** stars. You are not missing anything if you wait to see it on regular tv.
Deception is a a would-be erotic thriller with no heat and zero chills, “Deception” has the kind of glassy, glossy sheen and risible story that mean to suggest.
Without giving much more away, these three characters end up in a treacherous triangle ruled by multiple seductions involving erotic and also emotional same-sex entrapments, as well as interchangeable identities and split personalities. But Deception suffers from a serious identity crisis of its own, alternating between a love story, a sexy noir, and a psychological crime caper, and failing to settle sufficiently on any one of these competing narrative strands. And last but far from least, an over-achieving malevolent mastermind who's such a genius at circuitous schemes to get other people to commit crimes on his behalf, that the greatest mystery in Deception, may be why he can't just think up ways to simply do the dirty work himself to begin with.
The story is slow with a gradual build, nothing about this movie was believable. It had a concept that really has nothing that you can really sink your teeth into. ai give this movie two (2) stars.
“Star Trek” as done it again with a captivating script that keeps you glued to your seat, waiting to see whats going to happen next!
The 2009 “Star Trek” film goes back eagerly to where “Star Trek” began, using time travel to explain a cast of mostly the same characters, only at a younger point in their lives, sailing the Starship Enterprise. As a story idea, this is sort of brilliant and saves on invention, because young Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Uhura, Scotty and the rest channel their later selves. The child is father to the man, or the Vulcan, and all that.
The evolution of Star Trek to the Next Generation and Deep Space Nine kept me watching. Although this movie took an old concept and showed how the friends became friends.
This is one of the best Star Trek movies thus far. I give the movie four (4) **** stars. It is worth watching over and over again.
For some reason, the conservative force seems to believe that the president ideal of fixing the economy is not going to work. They think that some of his ideals are on the extreme side, but I believe that he has a plan and he is working this recession driven economy like a chess game. You see, chess is a game of thinking several moves ahead, and you never see it coming until you have been check mated. Unfortunately, I like many others can not see the forest for looking at the tree right now.
This plan is not going to happen over night, but it is going to happen! It took 8 years to create the mess, yet the world expects him to fix the problems, bad decision and all, yesterday! You see the President has proven one thing to me, when he annihilated the Clinton machine and destroyed the McCain campaign, I knew that he was a forced to be recognized. I am seeing gradual changes in the economy, the stock market is over 10,000 again and unemployment is still high but it has reached its highest point and its starting to fall.
The day is coming when the miracle will come, that the economy will bounce back and the dollar will become stronger again. Okay what took 8 years to tear down will not take more than 8 months to build it back up. If you believe it can happen!
Fighting is a rough-hewn heroic tale about realizing dreams of glory, putting audiences ringside at high-stakes underground street fights. Tatum stars as Sean Arthur, a young man who scrapes up a living hustling counterfeit merchandise in NYC. With family tragedy in his past and his father keeping him at a distance, this outsider has little to motivate him. A chance encounter with veteran street-fighting coach Harvey Boarden (Howard) leads to a whole new career for Sean. The ensuing bouts get tough, especially with the criminal element horning in, so Sean gets tougher. He will fight to win, not only the prize money but also the unexpected new relationships that are strengthening him.
Fighting is a poor excuse of a action movie, the acting is sorry and no matter how hard that you try to get into the movie the horribly written story line will leave you hangingt. This dry and dull drama offers little in the way of excitement or interesting moments. Tatum, fight scenes where pathetic, I kept wondering who would pay this guy $5,000 dollars to fight? I know that he's was capable of a strong performances, but he just mumbled his was through the role.and It was clear that his tough guy demeanor and pretty face was not enough to save this movie. Terrence Howard fairs better, but his mild-mattered sleaze ball character with his strange gay accent is so uninteresting you won't really care. At least Zulay Henao (who plays Zulay Valez in the movie)Is a bright point in the movie.
There's not much more to say, other than that those expecting a bunch of fight sequences will be massively disappointed. There are a few fight scenes, but the realistic approach director and co-writer Dito Montiel takes results in rather uninspiring battles, as Tatum and his opponent throw a few punches, roll around on the floor and try to put each other in choke holds a la MMA-style fighting. None of the scenes are very climactic, including the final fight scene, and so what we're left with is yet another story where some poor sap finally finds his calling with some illegal criminal hobby. We've all seen this story done a dozen times before and to better results.
Fighting is truly boring and poorly done. A lack of plot or strong performances ensure that this one will skip right over the bargain bin and into the trash.I give this one a one (*) star.
