Man walked in to Sheriff Department told him he was intoxicated and refused to leave.

HENDERSON CO., KY - The Henderson County Sheriff's Department told NEWS 25 that a man was taken into custody, after becoming belligerent once he walked into the sheriff's office under the influence of alcohol.

Steven Blevins, 33, walked into the HCSD office around 9:00am Wednesday. Police said he was intoxicated. Then, when deputies attempted to escort him from the building, they said he became resistive. He dropped to the floor and refused to move. At that point, a deputy used a taser on Blevins. He then was willing to comply with deputies.

Blevins was charged with intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Man invents INVENTED a female ROBOT for compaions

A BOFFIN too busy to find real love has INVENTED his idea of the perfect woman – a female ROBOT.
Inventor Le Trung, 33, created Aiko, said to be “in her 20s” with a stunning 32, 23, 33 figure, shiny hair and delicate features.

She even remembers his favourite drink and does simple cleaning and household tasks.

"Fem-bot" Aiko, who has cost £14,000 to build so far, is a whizz at maths and even does Le’s accounts.

Le, a scientific genius from Brampton in Ontario, Canada, said he never had time to find a real partner so he designed one using the latest technology.

He said he did not build Aiko as a sexual partner, but said she could be tweaked to become one. more

Letter carrier stole more than 100,000 letters

MONTREAL - A Montreal letter carrier pleaded guilty Monday in what is being called the biggest case of mail theft in Canadian history.

Eric Belley, 34, stole more than 100,000 letters and packages over a six-year period.

The letters themselves were left untouched, and that’s the problem - the prosecutor believes Belley was simply too lazy to do his job.

Instead of delivering mail to his customers the Montrealer brought entire bags of letters home, hiding them in his Montreal-area apartment or at his cottage north of the city.

“It was a shock. We had never seen such a thing, 75,000 or 100,000 pieces of mail,” said Catherine Lortie, of Canada Post.

On Monday the former postman pleaded guilty to mail theft. It appeared he had little choice after being caught in the act red-handed.

In the corporation’s investigation of Belley, he was filmed removing bags of mail from the trunk of his car and bringing it inside his home. He now faces up to 10 years in jail.more

Find out where Barrino and your other favorite American Idol stars are now.

According to property records, the 6-bedroom mansion has been foreclosed on. Unless the 8-time Grammy-nominated singer can make necessary payments, the 6,232 square-foot home will be auctioned off on Jan. 12.

Barrino, a single mother to daughter Zion, purchased the home, located on Bevington Place, in March 2007. The price was $1.3 million.

Check out American Idol's hottest makeovers.

Her other house, also located in Charlotte, was purchased in July 2004 for $740,000 and records show it's not in financial trouble.

Her recent tune, a duet with Jennifer Hudson called "I'm His Only Woman," was just nominated for a Grammy.

Mother disgusted after Nintendo DS Scrabble game taught her son a string of swearwords.

Enlarge Ethan Carrington-Anderson and his mother Tonya with his Nintendo DS Scrabble game that has a tendency to come up with rude words when it is the computer's turn to play
A mother who bought a Scrabble game for her eight-year-old son's computer console to improve his vocabulary has told of her disgust after it produced a string of swearwords.
Tonya Carrington, 36, gave her son Ethan the Nintendo version of the much-loved word game, enabling him to pit his wits against 'virtual' characters.
But she was horrified to discover that the computer-generated players were laying down words containing crude slang and abuse.
Now she is urging other parents considering buying the popular package as a Christmas present to think again.
Mrs Carrington tried out the program for herself on Ethan's hand-held DS console and was taken aback when her 'opponent' laid down the word 't*ts'.
The game also gives a definition of words it uses, on this occasion giving the meaning 'a garden bird' but also 'an informal word for female breasts'.
Any doubt was removed when the next word the computer offered was 'f*ckers', which it defined as 'a slang word for chavs'.
As if that wasn't bad enough, it received a triple score and won the game for the character, whose name was Camilla.
'Ethan is doing really well with English at school, so I decided to get this to help boost his vocabulary - but obviously not like that,' she said.

Boy George faces a jail term for falsely imprisoning

Boy George faces a jail term for falsely imprisoning a male escort.

He was told in court today that a prison sentence was 'the most likely option' after a jury convicted him of handcuffing Norwegian Audun Carlsen to a wall at his flat.

The singer, 46, whose real name is George O'Dowd, also beat Carlsen, 29, with a metal chain as he tried to escape from the flat in Shoreditch, East London after a kinky photographic session, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

Mr Carlsen fled in his underpants and alerted police.

A jury found Boy George, left, guilty of falsely imprisoning male escort Audun Carlsen, right
O'Dowd claimed he had handcuffed Carlsen to a wall while he investigated whether he had tampered with his home computer on April 28 of last year.

He accused Mr Carlsen of stealing photos of himself from the laptop, taken when the pair met three months earlier.

The defence claimed that the dispute was over whether Mr Carlsen had stolen photographs and, in so doing, 'messed up' O'Dowd's computer.
The suggestion that it was because Mr Carlsen refused to have sex with O'Dowd on the previous occasion was 'entire fantasy or a lie', the defence said.
O'Dowd denied to police that he punched or assaulted Mr Carlsen or swung a chain at him as the escort fled the flat, and suggested the bruises Mr Carlsen sustained could have been due to the fact that he was HIV positive.

Jurors saw photos of welts on Carlsen's head and injuries to his arm.

Boy George performing in Peru last year. He has been warned he faces a jail sentence
But Mr Carlsen told the court that O'Dowd concocted the story about computer tampering so he could punish him for not having sex during the first meeting.

He said: 'I think he couldn't handle the refusal - me not having sex with him.'
O'Dowd told police he was annoyed about that claim. 'I'd never have slept with someone who is HIV positive,' he told police.
The prosecution said the pair first made contact on the Gaydar website, a social networking site primarily for gay and bisexual men.more

farmers upset by the Environmental Protection agency

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – For farmers, this stinks: Belching and gaseous cows and hogs could start costing them money if a federal proposal to charge fees for air-polluting animals becomes law.
Farmers so far are turning their noses up at the notion, which is one of several put forward by the Environmental Protection Agency after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that greenhouse gases emitted by belching and flatulence amounts to air pollution.
"This is one of the most ridiculous things the federal government has tried to do," said Alabama Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks, an outspoken opponent of the proposal.
It would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle and $20 for each hog.
The executive vice president of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation, Ken Hamilton, estimated the fee would cost owners of a modest-sized cattle ranch $30,000 to $40,000 a year. He said he has talked to a number of livestock owners about the proposals, and "all have said if the fees were carried out, it would bankrupt them."
Sparks said Wednesday he's worried the fee could be extended to chickens and other farm animals and cause more meat to be imported.
"We'll let other countries put food on our tables like they are putting gas in our cars. Other countries don't have the health standards we have," Sparks said. more

Judge threw someone in jail for contempt for cussing

For the second day in a row, Judge Robert Ruehlman threw someone in jail and cited him for contempt for cussing in the courtroom.

It was an accused gang member Wednesday. On Thursday, it was a private attorney in a non-criminal case.

Michael Brautigam was before Ruehlman representing himself in a contentious civil suit he had filed against his North Avondale condo association and other condo owners in the building who are represented by Cincinnati attorney Peter Koenig.

Brautigam lives at Rose Crest Condominiums in the 700 block of Clinton Springs Avenue. He sued, accusing the condo association of not properly taking care of the building and asked a judge to force it to fix the roof and make other repairs.

Brautigam, who is an attorney but isn't licensed in Ohio, asked Ruehlman for more time to file documents. Ruehlman gave it to him.

As Koenig and Brautigam turned to walk away from the judge, Brautigam called Koenig "a (bleeping) liar."

"He used the famous F-word," Koenig said. "(Ruehlman) asked Mr. Brautigam if he said that."

Brautigam admitted he had and had directed it at Koenig.

Ruehlman cited Brautigam for contempt and sent him to jail for six months. more

hunter in pain after buck attacked him with his antlers

SEDALIA, Mo. (AP) - A hunter bagged a big buck on the second day of firearms season, but the kill caused him a lot of pain. Randy Goodman, 49, said he thought two well-placed shots with his .270-caliber rifle had killed the buck on Nov. 19. Goodman said the deer looked dead to him, but seconds later the nine-point, 240-pound animal came to life.
The buck rose up, knocked Goodman down and attacked him with his antlers in what the veteran hunter called "15 seconds of hell." The deer ran a short distance and went down, and died after Goodman fired two more shots.
Soon Goodman started feeling dizzy and noticed his vest was soaked in blood.
So he reached his truck and drove to a hospital, where he received seven staples in his scalp and was treated for a slight concussion and bruises.

40-year-old woman arrested for having sex with dogs

Palm Coast - A Palm Coast couple was arrested Tuesday after a CD showing pictures of a 40-year-old woman having sex with dogs that she adopted from the humane society was turned over to authorities, deputies said.
David Maldonado, 42, and his wife, Carla Maldonado, 40, were arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with an incident that occurred four years ago.
Flagler County sheriff's investigators said the Flagler County Humane Society, where Carla Maldonado had worked, turned over the compact disc in November. The humane society terminated her employment upon receipt of the CD.
Investigators have stated that the disc also contained 16 photographs of Carla Maldonado engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old female who was an acquaintance with the family. David Maldonado photographed the sex acts, according to investigators.
Both Carla and David Maldonado were charged with providing the victim alcohol and encouraging the participation in the sex acts. Sheriff's investigators said the victim is now 19 years old. more

A 62-year-old woman found near death with maggots eating her flesh...

TEXAS CITY, Texas — A 62-year-old woman has been hospitalized after authorities found her barely alive with maggots eating her flesh, Texas City police said.
Police found the woman after someone called 911 late Friday night claiming to be her son and said his mother had bedsores and needed an ambulance, police Capt. Brian Goetschius said. The caller, who police are searching for, said the back door of the house would be open and hung up, Goetschius said.
The officer who entered the house said it was in deplorable condition and there were several cats running around inside. He said he was overcome by a smell similar to that of a decaying body. The person who made the 911 call was not there.
The officer then saw what he first thought was a dead woman on the living room floor. Goetschius said that the officer then saw the woman blink.
"She was teetering on the brink of death," Goetschius told The Daily News in Galveston.
He said the woman is Linda Sue Sainz, a retired Galveston County Sheriff's Office dispatcher.
Sainz was taken to Mainland Medical Center in Texas City. Hospital officials said early Tuesday morning that they could not release a patient condition. more

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND

One day a man saw an old lady stranded on the side of the road. Even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her. Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor andhungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you. He said, 'I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.' Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he got dirty and his hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone inneed and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way. He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, 'And think of me..' He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight. A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingylooking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she neverlet the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan .After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be, then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: 'You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the wayI'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.' Under the napkin were four more $100 bills. Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but thewaitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? Withthe baby due next month, it was going to be hard.... She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, 'Everything's going to be all right. Ilove you, Bryan Anderson.' There is an old saying 'What goes around comes around.' Today I sent you this story, and I'm asking you to pass it on. Let this light shine. Don't delete it, don't return it. Psalm 55:22 --- you really need to read this.

'Friends are God's way of taking care of us.'
This was written by a Metro Denver Hospice Physician:

I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5 pm, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd., and the car started to choke, sputter and die - I barely managed to coast into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over.

Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the 'quickie mart' building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a Gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay.

When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel.

At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.

I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying 'I don't want my kids to see me crying,' so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, 'And you were praying?' That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, 'He heard you, and He sent me.'

I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fuelling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee.

She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.

She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City Her boyfriend left 2 months a go and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay rent Jan 1, and finally, in desperation, had called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years. They lived in California and said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there.

So she packed up everything she owned and put it in the car. She told the kids they were going to California to see their grandparents for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there.

I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said, 'So, are you like an angel or something?'

This definitely made me cry. I said, 'Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people.'

It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.

Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings...

Psalms 55:22 'Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.'

Judge charged with drunken

Probe Sought Against Judge Who Allegedly Used Racial Epithet

The co-chairman of the state legislature's judiciary committee wants a full review of allegations that a judge charged with drunken driving last month angrily hurled epithets at police officers during her arrest, called a black state police sergeant nigger and told officers she was a state judge.

Judge E. Curtissa R. Cofield, 59, who is black, also referred to state police Sgt. Dwight Washington as "Negro Washington" during her Oct. 9 arrest — which was captured by police video recorders — Courant columnist Kevin Rennie, a lawyer and former state legislator, wrote in his column in Sunday's Courant.

"Assuming it's true that she made those extremely racist comments, that can't be tolerated — from a judge, of all people," state Rep. Michael Lawlor, D-East Haven, said Monday.

Nothing was said of Cofield's alleged conduct during her appearance Monday in Superior Court in Manchester, where Judge William Bright Jr. delayed a decision on her application to a pretrial alcohol-education program until Dec. 8. Those who are admitted to and successfully complete the program, open only to first-time offenders, will have their record of arrest wiped clean.more

1/2 boy 1/2 man

If you read this, you WILL forward it on.
You just won't be able to stop yourself.

The average age of the military man is 19 years.
He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who,
under normal circumstances is considered by
society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind
the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old
enough to die for his country. He never really
cared much for work and he would rather wax
his own car than wash his father's, but he has
never collected unemployment either.

He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably
an average student, pursued some form of sport
activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a
steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when
he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from
half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he
was at home because he is working or fighting
from before dawn to well after dusk. He has
trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him,
but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and
reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite
to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can
apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop,
or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation,
but he is not without spirit or individual dignity.
He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears
the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never
to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend
his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you
are hungry, his food. He'll even split his ammunition
with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons
and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humor in it all.

He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime.

He has wept in public and in private, for friends
who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while
tempering the burning desire to 'square-away ' those
around him who haven't bothered to stand,
remove their hat, or even stop talking.

In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from
home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy.
He is the American Fighting Man that has
kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except
our friendship and understanding.
Remember him, always, for he has earned our
respect and admiration with his blood.

And now we even have women over there in
danger, doing their part in this tradition of going
to War when our nation calls us to do so.

As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot. . .

A short lull, a little shade and a picture of
loved ones in their helmets.

Prayer wheel for our military... please don't
break it Please send this on after a short prayer.

Prayer Wheel

'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts
they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.'

When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our ground troops, sailors on ships, and airmen in the air, and for those in Iraq , Afghanistan and all foreign countries.

There is nothing attached...
This can be very powerful...

Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier,
Sailor, Coastguardsman, Marine,
or Airman, prayer is the very best one.

I can't break this one, sorry.
Pass it on to everyone and pray.

Here are some work out facts

Did you know that 100% Of people who work out, 2o percent will gain weight? The reason is, quite simple:

Weight loss is not gaged on just working out. Many people think that because they worked out for a half hour that they can go home and eat what ever they want, (ice cream, cake and cookie)!

This is where that gradual gain of weight comes in. If you burn 600 calories, but you consume 1,200 calories... That means you are going to gain weight.

So lets break it down for those trying to bridge that gap... The process for loosing weight is quite simple. When you burn more calories than you consume, you loose weight! So lets say you worked out for 1 hour and you burned 1,200 calories. Then you monitored your calorie in take, an only consumed 900 calories. This in easy terms you burned more calories than you took in, therefore you loose weight!

Did you know that muscle tissue is heavier that fat? But fat tissue takes up more space than muscle tissue?

Oregon town elects nation's first transgender mayor

SILVERTON, Ore. (AP) - Plenty of politicians reinvent themselves. But none quite like Mayor-elect Stu Rasmussen.
Rasmussen, 60, has been a fixture in Silverton politics for more than 20 years, and had twice before been the mayor of this small city 45 miles south of Portland. Those terms, however, were before the breast implants and before the once-discreet crossdresser started wearing dresses and 3-inch high heels in public.
In a week when America loudly chose its first African-American president, Silverton quietly made Rasmussen the country's first openly transgender mayor, according to the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, a group that works to help openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender people win elected office.
Rasmussen displays a picture of his former self.Rasmussen unseated incumbent mayor Ken Hector, with whom he had long clashed — 1,988 votes to 1,512. Because Rasmussen's appearance is no secret, it was policy issues that dominated the campaign.

Can anyone imagine how the campaign raced was? Its hard enough digging up dirt on a person to reveal, but sense he debated in heels and a dress. I don't guess that could really be a issue!

Child-support laws need to be changed

I think that the new changes in child support has made some major improvements for the man, but the way they calculate needs work. How can a woman who makes more money than the man and still get tax free money as if she did not work?

The point should be made if a woman can terminate a childs life in 1 simple payment, a man should be able to terminate his rights to a child with 1 low payment. equality for all. Also, it is my belief that Court ordered support is re[*#@!]ulous. Maybe if the way support was calculated was better examined, there'd be less 'dead beat dads'. Just a thought.

Did you know that you can be a citizen in more than one country?

YES -- in many cases.

Yiu can have dual citizenship from birth or childhood, or else became a citizen of another country after already having US citizenship, and the other country in question does not have any laws or regulations requiring you to formally renounce your US citizenship before US consular officials, then current US law unambiguously assures your right to keep both citizenships for life.

The US State Department -- once quite combative in its handling of dual-citizenship claims -- has changed the way it handles these cases in recent years, and it is now much easier to retain such a status without a fight than it used to be.
The situation is slightly less clear for someone who becomes a US citizen via naturalization and still wishes to take advantage of his old citizenship. People who go through US naturalization are required to state under oath that they are renouncing their old citizenship, and conduct inconsistent with this pledge could theoretically lead to loss of one's US status.

Similarly, the State Department doesn't seem to be doing anything any more to people who renounce their US citizenship as part of a foreign country's "routine" naturalization procedure (in a manner similar to what the US makes its new citizens do). However, if the other country in question requires its newly naturalized citizens to approach officials of their old countries to revoke their previous status, one will generally not be able to remain a citizen both of that country and the US.

The first time we had sex

The husband leans over and asks his wife, 'Do you remember the first time we had sex together over fifty years ago? We went behind the village tavern where you leaned against the back fence and I made love to you.'
Yes, she says, "I remember it well.'
Ok,' he says. 'How about taking a stroll around there again and we can do it for old time's sake?'
'Oh Jim, you old devil, that sounds like a crazy ideal, but a good idea' A police officer sitting in the next booth heard their conversation and, having a chuckle to himself, he thinks to himself. I've got to see these two old-timers having sex against a fence. I'll just keep an eye on them so there's no trouble. So he follows them.
The elderly couple walks haltingly along, leaning on each other for support aided by walking sticks. Finally, they get to the back of the tavern and make their way to the fence. The old lady lifts her skirt and the old man drops his trousers. As she leans against the fence, the old man moves in.. Then suddenly they erupt into the most furious sex that the policeman has ever seen. This goes on for about ten minutes while both are making loud noises, moaning and screaming. Finally, they both collapse, panting on the ground. The policeman is amazed. He thinks he has learned something about life and old age that he didn't know.
After about half an hour of lying on the ground recovering, the old couple struggle to their feet and put their clothes back on. The policeman, is still watching and thinks to himself, this is truly amazing, I've got to ask them what their secret is.
So, as the couple passes, he says to them.' Excuse me, but that was something else. You must've had a fantastic sex life together. Is there some sort of secret to this?'
Still shaking, the old man is barely able to reply, 'Fifty years ago that wasn't an electric fence.

THE SPOILED UNDER-30

THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears
With their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning

... Uphill...

BOTH ways

Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up,
There was no way in hell I was going to lay

A bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it

And how easy they've got it!

But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of
Thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my
Childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!

And I hate to say it but you kids today you
Don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library and
Look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write
Somebody a letter, with a pen!

...Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to
Steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you
Were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school,
Your mom, your boss, your Bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you
Just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video
Games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games
Like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You
Actually had to use your Imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or
Screens, it was just one screen
Forever!

And you could never win. The game just kept getting
Harder and harder and
Faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

Sure, we had cable television, but back then that
Was only m-net And there was no on screen menu and no remote
Control!

You had to use a Little book called a TV Guide to find out what was
On! You were screwed when it Came to channel surfing! You had to get off
Your ass and walk over to the TV to change the Channel and there was no
Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons
On Saturday Morning. Do you Hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK
For cartoons, you spoiled
Little rat-bastards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat
Something up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that!

If we wanted Popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing
And shake it over the stove forever like an idiot.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids
Today have got it too easy.
You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted
Five minutes back in 1980!

The over 30 Crowd

Noose around Palin manikin is not a Hate Crime

webassets/images.jpgDo you know what a hate crime is? A hate  occur when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her membership in a certain social group, usually defined by racial group, religion, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender, gender identity, or political affiliation.[1]  The reason that I choose to write this article is because they considered a noose around a Palin manikin as a hate crime…I think that the only crime that the young jerks that hung that manikin up is ‘ignorance’!  Now on the other hand I can understand why the noose around a black manikin head indicating that it’s Obama would be considered a hate crime. How quickly conservative’s memory has lapsed… How did they forget about all the lynching committed in the southern states against black people? Are you all that insensitive, did you really forget? Did you know that thousands of black men, women and children have been lynched? Did you know that the racial hatred that was thrust upon the black men and women of the world was done to them simply because some white guys got a royal hair up his ass and wanted to go out and make a point? It disturbs me that a white manikin hanging in the air is considered to be a hate crime. If you reviewed history I don’t think you could find a single case of white men getting drunk then going out and stringing up a white woman for kicks! Some how I just can not imagine that happening. But if we were to look back in time I do believe history could repeat itself with someone attempting a hate crime on Obama… Hint, hint the black manikin hanging in the air! Let’s be realistic, if you had a sure hand which one would you bet your last dollar on? Hatred on Palin or Obama?

Hannity wining about Obama

For the last year in a half Hannity has initiated a barrage of attacks on Obama chacter, with no impunity for the truth. He has attacked Ayers, Wright, Accorn claiming that Obama should not have associated with them! The fact that Obama has mentioned Hannity's name sents him into fits, that Obama is attacking him. Okay Hannity let me get this straight you dedicate a 3 hour show 5 days a week to attacking Obama. Then he mentions your name and that is an attack? I pity you as a conservative talk show host, you complain that the news media is bias... Although daily you blow the Palin/McCain horn... I thought you know this but Palin is running for Vice-President, not President. You give so many accolades to Palin, that if I had a dime for how many times that you mentioned her name I would be a very rich man tight now!

I understand that you don't want an Obama in office, but why? Your attacks of how much better that the economy will be with McCain in office is not the case at all. If I did not know better I would swear that you are writing talking points for Palin/McClain! I think that it is sad that they repeat your words of attack verbatim. The great thing about your show, it allows many people get to see just how you think! The unmitigated gawl of you to simply think that your thoughts are going to enhance the world to new levels blows me away... Could you do me one favor Hannity, could you tell me why I should vote for McCain without saying Obama's name?

Did you know how to get a good price when you buy a car?

I received a question the other day about how to buy a car and get a good price.

So Sandy ask me "How can she get a good price when she buys a car"? So because I used to sell car I will share a few things for the common buyer to know

Did you know that when a car sits on a car lot longer than a month that the dealership has to pay interest on that unit until it is sold?

Did you know that a smaller dealership is less likely to haggle on price.

Did you know that the more elite the car the less likely they will be willing to negotiating the price.

Did you know that a dealership that does a lot of advertising are more willing to work with you as far negotiating a price.

Did you know when dealerships advertise to sell a car at a great price, that they are trying to move that car?

Did you know what every car dealership has a Pack? A pack is what a dealership figures as a added cost to fix minor problems on a car.

Did you know that the price the dealership paid for the car is added with the pack. The price of the car + pack = total price.

Did you know that the Total Price is what most dealership will sell a car for, although if you are really set on your price negotiate to not pay the pack...

Did you know when you purchase a brand new car you loose 25% of what you paid for the car?

Did you know that if you purchased a brand new car drove it off the lot and came back the next day and tried to sell the car you paid $30,000 dollars for that the dealership would offer you about $22,000 dollars for that same car?

Did you know that you can buy a pre-owned car with 5 to 10,000 miles, can save you as much as 8 to 10,000 off the retail price.

Did you know that the absolute best time to buy a car is when the new models are coming out, that is September /October.

What do I need to know when I am ready to buy?

Did you know that you should always do your homework before buying any car... Know the value of your car and the value of the car you interested in. That way they don't steal your trade.

Did you know that stealing a trade is when the dealership offers you less money for your trade, than its actually worth!

Did you know that you should always have a car fax done on any car that you buy?

Did you know that if you buy a car "as is" you are still protected by the Lemon Law?

Did you know to never discuss the trade-in until after you have agreed on a purchase price. Also keep in mind that you may receive more money selling your present car privately than by trading it in.

Did you know to always test drive the car. Make sure you test it on hills, highways, and stop-and-go traffic. Check out its heating, defrosting and air conditioning systems and make sure all electronic features are working well.

Did you know to not sign any agreement with blank spaces. Make sure all items are filled in correctly and that you receive copies of the paperwork.

Did you know that you should always get all agreements for fixing things something broke in writing, without that its your word against theirs!

The farmer said, 'Yes, I got a suit, I wears it to church on Sundays.' The lawyer said, 'No, no, I mean, do you have a case?' The farmer said, 'No, I ain't got a Case, but I got a John Deere. Barack Obama picked up at least 17 newspaper endorsements

Barack Obama picked up at least 17 newspaper endorsements this weekend, including six in swing states Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, and Missouri. John McCain, as far as we know, gained The Wheeling News-Register in West Virginia and the Napa Valley Register in California. Sen.

McCain's campaign has been as disappointing as his move toward party orthodoxy. More than his opponent, he has run a relentless stream of commercials that have been discredited by nonpartisan fact-checkers. He has articulated no vision for the country other than to suggest that it should believe in him as an individual, as a war hero of independent judgment.

Over the past nine months, Mr. Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, has emerged as the only truly transformative candidate in the race. In the crucible that is a presidential campaign, his intellect, his temperament and equanimity under pressure consistently have been impressive. He has surrounded himself with smart, capable advisers who have helped him refine thorough, nuanced policy positions.

Obama represents a new direction. He has shown he can inspire and lead people to action. And his relatively short time in corrupt, self-absorbed, terribly-failed Washington, D.C., may actually be a key strength. Obama is not stuck in the status quo of the Capitol crowd or its long-failed Congress. America is at a pivotal point in its history — a difficult time that demands talented leadership to renew our nation's spirit and pull us together to meet the incredible challenges ahead.

Obama doesn't just give pretty speeches. He speaks to people's best instincts, encouraging them to shine. The right leader for the time is Barack Obama.

In a word, Mr. Obama has represented himself as presidential. more

Joe the Plumber is not really a Plumber?

Joe the Plumber is not exactly a plumber and he's "not even close", he's actually a Plumbers Apprentice hoping to one day make it to the big league. Wurzelbacher, 34, told the Associated Press that he was not a licensed plumber. Because he works for a small company that does residential work, he said, he doesn't need to be licensed.

Joe Wurzelbacher of Holland, Ohio, has become an overnight sensation since Republican John McCain made him famous in his presidential debate. McCain mentioned him more than 20 times to use him as a symbol of hard-working Americans who would be hurt by Obama's tax policies.

Obama and Wurzelbacher met earlier in the week in Toledo, where Wurzelbacher said Obama's plans to raise taxes on those making $250,000 a year or more would penalize him in his plans to buy the plumbing business for which he works. But does Joe really need to worry? Because if he's the same Joe that ABC News identified as Sam Joe Wurzelbacher, also of Toledo, Ohio, he doesn't always bother to pay his taxes.

Wurzelbacher has been on Fox News, interviewed by CBS's Katie Couric and appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America."

I find this odd that McCain campaign didn't vet 'Joe the Plumber"??? JtP was going to be the centerpiece of his 'comeback' debate with Obama and the campaign didn't even check to see if he was a licensed plumber? Did they know that he's not even registered to vote?
After the lack of vetting of Sarah Palin came back to bite them, you'd think they would have learned their lesson. Is this anyway to run a campaign? Do you want these guy to be running the country? These are Bush league mistakes. America deserves better.
Joe the unlicensed plumber is either a complete and utter moron, incapable of understanding even the simplest math problem, or he is a mccain campaign plant. If this yahoo is not bright enough to figure out that he is much better off under Obama's tax plan than under McCain's plan, then it is no surprise that he can't pass the plumbers exam. FLUSH............

I feel sorry for the guy. He's going to be chewed up, spit out and forgotten. McCain's people thought they were being clever, but in the end they'll look like bumbling fools.

He also sounded concerned about the attention he is receiving. "I'm completely flabbergasted with this whole thing and just hope I'm not making too much of a fool of myself and hope I can get my message out there," he said.

The wrong use of "terrorist"

The term "terrorist" is loaded, and it would be disingenuous to suggest otherwise. It brings to mind swarthy Middle Eastern Islamic radicals bent on our destruction as evidenced by 9/11. It does not bring to mind a white hippie anti-war '60's radical, which is what Ayers was. The use of the word "terrorist" in regard to Ayers is outside of the historical narrative. Never before have I heard anyone use the word "terrorist" to describe '60's radicals who resorted to violence. But it is obvious that the McCain campaign chose to use word "terrorist" as a way to frighten people and remind them of the people who tried to destroy us. No one in their right mind would ever suggest that a '60's radical is a threat to anyone in 21st century America. But a "terrorist", well that is a big open wound in this country.
So Palin says Obama is "palling around with terrorists." Note the present tense and the plural noun. She is suggesting that he is currently in cahoots with multiple terrorists. Plus she said that Obama thinks that he sees America as so flawed that he associates with said terrorists. "He does not see America as you and I do," she said, meaning "he's not like us." Coupled with the fact that their surrogates emphasized his middle name, Hussein, which coincides with the last name of the Middle Eastern dictator we recently deposed, and John McCain's repeated question "Who is the real Barack Obama?" And their suggestion that Obama's campaign funding may have from the Middle East or Muslims. Plus their online propaganda campaign which says Obama is a Muslim, that he is not an American citizen, that he is somehow associated with other anti-American people, issues, or forces. When you take all this together it is inescapable that the are using racism and xenophobia to tell Americans to be afraid of Barack Obama. They cannot afford to make it a straight white/black thing, because they couldn't get away from it. They cannot overtly call Obama the "N" word and tell people not to vote for an "N," but they can surely put the dots out their and hope that people connect them. As Chris Matthews put it, McCain-Palin wants the voters to do their "dirty work" for them. And as we saw at McCain's town hall on Friday, people surely connected the dots, as evidenced by the guy saying he is afraid of an Obama presidency and the now (in)famous old lady who said she could not trust Obama because he is an "Arab." Combined to the various people at their rallies who have called Obama a "terrorist" or shouted "treason," "Off with his head," and "kill him." Are you saying that these people pulled this out of nowhere?
As for Obama not denouncing non-Christians as you think he should, I don't know which Bible you've read, but mine does not say that. My church never preached that. According to Christ, the highest commandment is to love, love you’re God and love others. That means everyone, and there are no preconditions for this love. The Bible goes further to say that those who say they love God, but hate their brothers are liars. It is harsher still and says that those who hate others are "murderers." Out of the two tickets, I would say that Obama and Biden have showed more Christian behavior than McCain-Palin. As for McCain-Palin, I'm afraid that Christ would offer them the term he often called the religious-political leaders of the time, and it is "hypocrite."

How do you abuse your power, but did nothing wrong?

I have to ask this question of how can Palin be found guilty of unlawfully abusing her power as Alaska’s governor by firing her former brother-in-law who was a state trooper. This is a from a ethics committee (Bipartisan , both Dems and GOP) investigation.. She did nothing wrong in firing him, but the procedure that she used to lead up to the firing was a direct violation of an abuse of power. I find it quite unique that Limbaugh and Hannity have refused to mention anything about her abuse of power! Being impartial does not count against these guys... So when will we find out what she actually did wrong?

Death Threats, I think thats against the law?

At one point in time when you would have a rally of whites band together to express their hate of blacks, that was normal called a klan meeting! So I can understand why David Duke would attended such a meeting. Although when I am at a presidential Rally for McCain and Palin and a member in a angry crowds yelled out the following on Obama: "off with his head" and "kill him". To say those words about a member of Congress is itself a Federal offense. The persons who said those words at these rallies should have been arrested on the spot.

Why when a black man is subjected this kind of abuse he is PLAYING THE RACE CARD. The fact that McCain or Palin did nothing to respond to these Federal offenses also makes them guilty of abetting the criminal behavior.
You see through history when these actions happened before it was not a problem, now its different...Don't let because they don't have sheets on their head now overshadow that it is still a HATE, which is a CRIME!!!

The FBI needs to be brought in now -- these rallies should be highly secured and any individual who act like this should be arrested...

Why Does it matter?

Does it matter that Sen. Barack Obama received contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac employees? Why does it not matter that John McCain received contribution from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac employees as well.

Does it matter that Republican can make claims that they can'nt prove? Then automatically assume that everyone will believe them because the Republicans said so?

Why does it matter that Franklin Raines is serving as Obama economic adviser, is it because of the 500 million in campaign contribution that he raised for one month?

Why does it matter that he knew Tony Rezko? Does it matter that their is no known link to Rezko now?

Why does it matter that he has a half brother who lives in a hut in Kenya?

Does it matter that the issue of ACORN is nothing more than speculation at this stage and there's always the possibility (I consider it a certainty) that the investigation will turn out to be an election gimmick concocted by unscrupulouos people who know full well it's a lot of bull.

Does it matter that ACORN is now being investigated for voter fraud? Does it matter that Obama is not directly tied to Acorn now? Does it matter that being "under investigation" in the USA does not yet constitute guilt and a trial can always end with a verdict of guilt ("innocent until proven guilty", right?). The truth will come out (and probably be ignored by you) only after the damage is done. That's what an election gimmick is for.

Does it matter that Obama sat on a board with William Ayers for the Woods Fund of Chicago? Does it matter that Ayers is a successful college Professor who has written over 8 books? Does it matter that Ayers and Obama have no current association?

Does it matter that Obama was able to sit under the pastorate of Jeremiah Wright for 20 years while Wright spewed anti-American rhetoric? Does it matter that of 20 years of preaching over 7,300 sermons that they were only able to find 1 sermon of anti-american rhetoric?

Does it matter that is all guilt by association? Why does it matter now? None of the people that created all the controverse in the pass are part in his future...So why does it matter?

Where does he get this stuff?

"Obama's secret that you don't know is that his tax increases will increase taxes on 50 percent of small business revenue." I can not believe this guy, where does he get his information from?

My tax plan increase will affect "only a few percent of small businesses who make more than $250,000 a year. So, the vast majority of small businesses would get a tax cut under my plan." TRUE...AND TRUE: Only 4.3 percent of the total U.S. businesses are small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year, according to tax data. It's also possible that a majority of "small business revenue" comes from these firms. Obama is referring to the number of firms, McCain is referring to the concentration of revenue at the top end of the small business food chain. Both managed to make the facts work for their arguments.

The truth about Acorn and Barack

Discredited Republican voter-suppression expert Ken Blackwell has gone on TV lately with some wild accusations against Barack about a non-existent connection with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also known as ACORN.
The accusations have no basis in fact.
The truth is that Barack was never a community organizer or trainer for ACORN, and he was never employed by ACORN in any other capacity. ACORN was not part of the historic voter registration drive that Barack led.
Get more information and help spread the truth about Barack Obama:

Together we can make sure these deceitful and false attacks don't affect this election.
Thanks for your help.

Let he who has not sinned throw the first stone.

How could in good conscious can all the the conservative media, keep sling Obama propaganda, and think it is okay? Is this hard hitting material that is being revisited against Obama going to be used in poor judgment? When does supporting these efforts and attacks become weak and ineffective?
Hannity and Limbaugh has went into overtime mode attacking Obama by any means necessary. All attacks thus far has failed. Now they and other conservative talk show host are back with a vengeance to beat down Obama. Spending every moment they are own the radio(generally 3 hours) attacking Obama. How many ways can you spin Bill Ayers? I mean he is a college a college professor that turned his life around. Can he not make a mistake. So the time that he served in prison did not amount for anything? Jeremiah Wright is another one who is being attacked, I listened to several of his sermons, and has a black man I can relate to what was being said, a small percentage I was left out their. Its funny, 99% of the time that conservatives don't get it. To them Wright and David Duke are in the same category???? One preaches good and one works to administer only good to whites! Limbaugh had his little feelings hurt when the Mexican comment got misconstrued... He went to great means to correct the mistake that he had made. Hannity has had connections with racist as well...

With so many real problems that we experience with the down ward serge of the economy, how in good conscious can we simply excuse and ignore the world crumbling around us to attack the chactor of these individual. So what will be the determination on how the long list of problems , and how they will be fixed? What will be the criteria for president??? Who ever slang the best mud???Is this who people really want running our country? Regardless of your race or political party, this is unacceptable! There is no way we can ignored the facts. I do in good faith want these issues of the economy addressed immediately!

The hypocrisy of not trying to resolve issues of the U.S. economic difficulties does need to be address . The major drag on McCain's campaign is the fact that has resorted to attack and smear, when he should be explaining how he plans on resolving the issues at hand...

I live by this creed, that if you have sinned... How can you throw the first stone?

A drink of tea

One day my mother went out and left my dad in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident. Someone had given me a little tea set as a get-well gift and it was one of my favourite toys.Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mum came home.My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because 'it was just the cutest thing!' My Mum waited and sure enough, I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy. She watched him drink it up.Then she said, as only a mother could:
'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?'

O.J. Simpson Found Guilty on All Charges in Robbery-Kidnap Trial

The 61-year-old former football star could spend the rest of his life in prison. Sentencing was set for Dec. 5. The Hall of Fame football star was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges for gathering up five men a year ago and storming into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos. Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one of them said Simpson asked him to bring a gun.
The verdict came 13 years to the day after Simpson was cleared of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in Los Angeles in one of the most sensational trials of the 20th century.
A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody. more The Ojay of today is 61, if he would have sat his ass down and acted his age he would not be in this mess now!!

90-Year-Old Woman Shoots Herself Inside Foreclosed Home

Ohio - Three Summit County Sheriff's Deputies serving a foreclosure eviction notice to the 1100 block of Lacroix Avenue in Akron found a 90-year-old woman shot on the second floor of the home.It is unclear if the woman, Addie Polk, shot herself accidentally or if she was attempting suicide.According to officials with the Summit County Sheriff's Department, the deputies knocked on the woman's front door on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. No one answered and as they were about to leave, they heard a noise coming from the second floor of the home. This situation could have easy been resolved if this lady would have been given a reverse mortgage. The lady could have received cash and the only time her balance would have come due. When the loan ends when the homeowner dies, sells the house, or, depending on the loan conditions, moves out of the house for 12 consecutive months (for example, to go into an assisted living home or due to physical or mental illness the borrower is not able to live in the property on which the loan has been taken). At that point, the reverse mortgage can be paid off with the proceeds of the sale of the house, or if the borrower has died, the property can be refinanced by the heirs of the homeowner's estate with a regular mortgage. If the proceeds exceed the loan amount including compounded interest and fees, the owner of the house receives the difference. If the owner has died, the heirs receive the difference. For cases where the proceeds are not sufficient to pay off the loan, then the bank (or insurance which the bank has on the loan) absorbs the difference.
The technical term for this cap on debt is "non-recourse limit." It means that the lender does not have legal recourse to anything other than the value of the home when the loan is to be paid off.[3]
In most cases when the borrower moves out of the property or dies, as long as the borrower (or his estate) provides proof to the lender that he/she is attempting to sell the home or obtain financing to pay off the outstanding debt, the investor will allow him up to one year to do so. After the one year extension period is up, the lender cannot provide any further extension of time to the borrower (or estate).

Liars In The Church

A preacher finished the service one morning by saying, 'Next Sunday, I am going to preach on the subject of liars. As a preparation for my sermon, I would like you all to read Mark 17.' On the following Sunday, the preacher rose to begin. Looking out at the congregation he said, 'Last week I asked you all to read Mark 17. If you have read the chapter, please raise your hand.' Nearly every hand in the congregation went up. Smiling, the preacher said, 'You are the very people I want to talk to. Mark has only 16 chapters.'

Did you know that Apple Threatens to Shut Down iTunes

Musicians and their labels want Apple to increase the amount they make per digital music download. Apple says they would rather shut down iTunes music store. They are turning down a request for an increase of six more cents per song for music publishers and songwriters.
Apple has insisted on keeping the price at 99 cents per download arguing that any price increase above that will make them unprofitable. The Copyright Royalty Board is scheduled to decide on the proposal by a three-person board appointed by the Librarian of Congress by Thursday. Music publishers want their cut to go from 9 cents to 15 cents per song - a 66 percent increase.
Digital downloads have been at the same rate for 12 years and at the the same rate as the sale of physical albums. The board will also raise royalties on physical albums and ringtones, “for the next five years.” I don’t know if that means in five years they will raise the rates higher.
Wired quotes Apple’s iTunes vice president Eddy Cue as saying:
“Apple has repeatedly made it clear that it is in this business to make money, and most likely would not continue to operate [the iTunes music store] if it were no longer possible to do so profitably.” more

Court denies GOP appeal on Ohio early voting

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio GOP suffered another legal defeat Tuesday, as a federal appeals court ruled against the party's appeal involving a disputed early voting window that allows Ohio voters to register and cast a ballot on the same day.

A three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati denied the Ohio GOP's request that, at the very least, ballots cast during the weeklong period be segregated from other ballots cast for the Nov. 4 presidential election.

A federal district judge in Columbus declined to rule on the matter Monday. The Ohio Supreme Court upheld the early voting window in a 4-3 decision the same day, while a federal judge in Cleveland also sided with Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

The appeals court noted that the lower district court did not rule on the matter of the voting window, and said the argument involves facts about how election officials handle absentee ballots that must first be presented to a lower court.

Bill Todd, a lead attorney for the Ohio GOP, said the party was discussing its options Tuesday night. It wasn't known whether they planned to further appeal.

The appeals court also gave Brunner a second victory, rejecting a GOP challenge to her advisory that county boards of elections weren't required to allow poll observers during early voting.

A federal judge in Columbus issued a temporary restraining order against Brunner's instructions Monday. But the appeals court overturned that ruling, saying the district court had abused its discretion in granting the order.

Thousands of Ohioans went to the polls Tuesday for the first day of early voting. Ohio's largest counties had several hundred voters each, and a small portion of them also registered Tuesday.
